The Theory of Planned Behavior
Context: Doctoral Research Colloquium
Role: Theory Translator, Systems Analyst & Facilitator
This interactive session was designed to translate a complex behavioral theory into practical application across sectors. The goal was not simply comprehension, but strategic interpretation — helping participants understand how intention, behavior, and structural conditions intersect within organizations.
Through guided dialogue and applied case analysis, the session examined:
The gap between intention and action within institutional systems
How environmental structures shape behavior
The role of belief, perception, and identity in decision-making
Why well-intended leaders often produce unintended outcomes
Rather than presenting theory in isolation, the discussion positioned behavioral research as a strategic tool for diagnosing misalignment within organizations.
Participants left with a clearer understanding of how decision-making is influenced not only by personal values, but by structural incentives, role expectations, and cultural norms — a foundation critical to leadership development and organizational alignment.
